Research Focus

image001fMy research is focused on utilizing electrochemistry and spectroscopy to solve problems in materials, biological, and environmental sciences. As an electrochemical materials scientist, I am interested in studying the nature and kinetics of electron transfer reactions. Use of spectroscopy, often simultaneously with electrochemistry, provides the chemical and molecular nature of the same reactions. My current research involves interdisciplinary studies to understand the nature of electron transfer processes mediated by biological molecules and microorganisms; research that focuses on environmental remediation and biofuels.
